After having been teased with an initial taste one morning at the 2010 Tales of the Cocktail, we were recently able to enjoy the new Michael Collins 10 Year Old Single Malt, as well as the newly (and now reasonably) packaged Michael Collins Blended Whiskey on their own, and in several very fine cocktails.

We had the rare opportunity a while back to meet Ron Cooper and taste all of the single-village mezcals he has assembled under the Del Maguey Brand. Pisco is a fairly old, primitive, and frankly vibrant and muscular spirit. In the case of Encanto it is also hand-bottled in the Ica Valley of Peru.
Shakers American Rye Vodka

The taste is nutty, grainy, with some bitter/mineral taste I can’t quite pinpoint. This is so grainy it’s reminiscent of a white dog. It feels chewy on the palate, and a little yeasty.
