Bar Tonique

While pretty unassuming looking, and in not the shiniest part of New Orleans, Bar Tonique is a nice find during our trip for Tales of the Cocktail. They make their own tonics and other concoctions, taking a page, with a nod, from Jeffrey Morgenthaler of Clyde Common in Portland, Oregon. Our bartender could quote ingredients and history quite well, and made some lovely classics, and variants on classics. Try a Final Word, their whisky variant on The Last Word.

We may try one again, when we go back to find Ms. Boozenik’s misplaced eyeglasses…
