Portland Bartenders Shaking it up at Gulf Coast Benefit

GulfBenefitGulfBenefitThe Oregon Bartender’s Guild and the Portland chapter of the Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails (LUPEC) have announced a benefit laden with booze, beer, food and music to benefit Gulf Coast fishermen on Aug. 1 in Portland, Oregon.

The event will feature a seafood boil and Southern comfort food by Chef Anthony Walton of Beaker and Flask and Chef Gregory Smith of Noble Rot. Spirits will be provided by Don Q Puerto Rican Rum and cocktails will be mixed up by members of the Oregon Bartender’s Guild. LUPEC founders will be behind the shakers, including Shannan Shute from Clyde Common, Allison Webber of Gilt Club, Jess Putterman of Noble Rot, and Mary Bartlett of Bluehour/Teardrop. Other great folks behind the bar will include Ricky Gomez & David Shenaut of Teardrop/Beaker, Adam Robinson of Park Kitchen, David Benedetti of Saucebox, Drew Putterman of Grüner, and Brandon Wise of Iriving Street Kitchen.

Tickets are limited and are on sale now for a minimum donation of $40.

All proceeds will benefit The Greater New Orleans Foundation’s Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund supporting fishermen and their families in Louisiana’s hardest hit towns.. Nearly a third of our nation’s seafood is harvested in Louisiana’s waters and 6,400 fishermen in Louisiana’s coastal parishes are facing unemployment as a result of the ongoing disaster. The Greater New Orleans Foundation is a certified 501c.
