Flor de Caña Grand Reserve (7 year)

The taste is of banana, nutmeg, brown sugar, light molasses, caramel, allspice, vanilla bean, pear, Szechuan pepper and coconut.

Deco Silver Rum

The nose has some light, but noticeable alcohol, with a touch of molasses, and hints of raspberry. The scent is somewhat jammy, with hints of mango.

Liquid Vodka

Liquid Vodka tastes of grain, walnut, filberts. It’s bittersweet and likely rounded, with a moderately heavy body. There’s no real burn or warmth on the taste — that’s saved for the nose and finish.

Deco Coffee Rum

If there’s anything Portlanders love, along with beer and spirits, it’s coffee. Capitalizing on that love affair, Deco have taken their Silver Rum and flavored it with coffee from local favorite Stumptown Coffee Roasters. The result is an interesting spirit with more presence than most flavored spirits, but with far less sweetness than most flavored liqueurs.

Michael Collins 10 Year Old Single Malt

Fitting the rebel fervor of their namesake, Michael Collins proudly states that it is made by the Cooley distillery: the last independent distillery in the Republic of Ireland.

Macchu Pisco

Macchu Pisco is handmade, although the grapes are stomped by foot, and it’s produced in a traditional copper pot still in the Ica Valley of Peru.

Del Maguey Mezcal Vida

We had the rare opportunity a while back to meet Ron Cooper and taste all of the single-village mezcals he has assembled under the Del Maguey Brand. We were quite taken not only with the breadth of the line, but with the depth and complexity of each. All Del Maguey mezcal is 100 percent organic espadin agave, traditionally roasted in stone-lined pits, and twice distilled in traditional pot stills.

Tequila Ocho Plata 2010

Tequila Ocho puts their emphasis on the terrior, and having previously tasted some of their other vintages from other estates, there are definite differences to be had and enjoyed.

Pisco is a fairly old, primitive, and frankly vibrant and muscular spirit. In the case of Encanto it is also hand-bottled in the Ica Valley of Peru.
